A Little History

Growing up on a farm in a Pennsylvania Dutch family, Esther spent much of her childhood in the kitchen. She learned from an early age how to touch someone’s heart with a deliciously prepared meal.

Beginning in 1994, she made and sold jams, jellies, chocolates and mouth-watering pies at local craft shows and farm markets in South Central Pennsylvania. Wanting to spend more time with her daughter, Esther decided to transform her passion for cooking into a catering business.

Since 2001, Esther’s Country Kitchen has been making real food for real people in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg and the surrounding area. Customizing menus to fit each clients’ tastes, Esther designs and prepares each dish with the same care and attention to detail that she would for her own family.

While busy catering weddings, corporate picnics for 2,500 and holiday parties, you’ll still see Esther creating buffet dinners for her church and sharing soup, pie and other treats from her kitchen with countless neighbors, friends and family members.
